Opportunities For Parents
Parents participate with the school in a variety of ways from helping out in the classrooms, fund raising activities, to assisting with special events. In addition there are two parent groups which meet monthly.
Parent Advisory Committee
The Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) is a group of parents that wish to take an active role in guiding CDC whether it be through planning events, positively adjusting school policy, or giving parent perspectives. We are always welcoming new parents to participate, and meetings will be announced on the website's school calendar in advance.
Individual Family Support Program
This program is available to families experiencing stress, separation, domestic violence, problems with household management, discipline, or communication difficulties. Individual/ family sessions are available by appointments only.
All children who attend CDC are eligible for a nutritious breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack subsidized by the Child Nutrition Program from the California Department of Education regardless of income.
Developmental toys are available to be checked out by families and may be kept at home for one to two weeks then returned and checked back in.
CDC is part of a community consortium, which is funded by L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services, that allows us to refer our families for a variety of services at free or low cost. These services include personal counseling, programs with parks and recreation, and theater activities.
