Message for Parents

The most important thing when selecting a preschool is that you feel comfortable with the providers as well as the programs they offer.  You don't want to rush into a decision.  After all, your child will potentially be spending a lot of time here; therefore, you want to be certain that time is spent in an environment that is safe, fun, nurturing and conducive to learning.

First Things First

Upon enrollment, each child is evaluated for the purpose of developing a specific educational program to meet his or her needs.  CDC recognizes that each child requires individualized instruction and attention.  Children requiring a high degree of attention are normally placed in a program with a child to teacher ratio of three-to-one.  Children who require a lesser degree of attention are usually placed in a program with a three or five-to-one ratio, depending on the child's needs.

CDC works with children with special needs and teaches parents how to understand and cope with the individual requirements of their children.

The special needs of CDC children may include:

• Developmental, Language & Speech Delays

• Premature birth
• Prenatal exposure to drugs or alcohol
• Early medical conditions
• Eating and sleeping disorders
