Special Needs Parent Group
All parents are invited to these
meetings, whether or not they have
a child with special needs. These
parents meet to discuss topics,
which are of concern to them
regarding the raising of children with
special needs. Speakers are often
invited and parents have an
opportunity to network, provide
support for each other and share
resources. These parents also
provide feedback to the program
regarding the effectiveness of their
early intervention services.
Family Support Services
CDC is part of a community consortium, which is
funded by L.A. County Department of Children and
Family Services that allows us to refer our families
for a variety of services at free or low cost. These
services include personal counseling, programs with
parks and recreation and theater activities.
Opportunities For Parents
Parents participate with the school in a variety of
ways from helping out in the classrooms, fund
raising activities to assisting with special events.
In addition there are two parent groups which
meet monthly.
Parent Council
All parents belong to this group. They meet to discuss
issues which are of concern to them. These topics
may concern child rearing, health & insurance issues,
or other topics. They also work to support the school
activities and provide feedback regarding the services
of the program.
